This report gives a review of the Core Team Consultant’s (CTC) progress during the month of April 2006. The current status of sub-project implementation and related technical assistance (TA) consultancies is also provided. Note: In 2004 two new provinces were established in Eastern Region Irian Jaya Barat (West Irian Jaya) and Sulawesi Barat (West Sulawesi)
The EIRTP project has the objectives described in detail in Section 1.2 below. EIRTP-1 focuses on only national roads and bridges and other roads of national strategic importance and has been restricted to projects within environmental category B. EIRTP-1 includes preparation of a 2nd project EIRTP-2 under loan IBRD 4744 IND, wich loan was signed on 22 July 2004 and became effective in October 2004. Physical works commenced at the end of 2005. CTC began handover of its duties for EIRRTP-2 on February 2006 and continued this month. EIRTP-1 is made up of three main components: a)Road and Bridge Works; b)Road Safety and Quality of Life Improvements; c)Institutional and Human Resource Development.

Proyek Transportasi Kawasan Timur Indonesia Kesatu (The Eastern Indonesia Region Transport Project - EIRTP-1) difokuskan untuk pembangunan jalan Nasional di Kawasan Timur Indonesia melalui pembiayaan dana berbantuan pinjaman dari Bank Dunia. Dana bantuan pinjaman Bank Dunia untuk proyek ini dinegosiasikan padaa khir tahun 2001 dan ditanda tangani pada 22 Januari 2002. Pinjaman ini mulai efektif pada 27 Maret 2002 dan dijadwalkan berakhir pada 30 Juni 2006.
